On 19th June 2025, students of JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) recently attended an insightful talk on Cybersecurity and Online Safety, held in conjunction with their module “Cybersecurity in Healthcare: Protecting Patient Data & Digital Health Systems” under the subject of Nursing Informatics. The session aimed to equip students with knowledge on safeguarding sensitive information in today’s increasingly digital healthcare environment.
The talk was delivered by Izdihar Sulaiman from Cyber673 and Danial Asyraf from the Brunei Cybersecurity Association (BCSA), who shared real-world advice and practical tips on staying safe online. Their discussion emphasized the importance of cyber awareness not only in personal digital use but also in protecting patient data and maintaining secure health systems.
This initiative underscored the relevance of cybersecurity in modern nursing practice, reminding students that being cyber-smart is just as essential as being healthcare-smart. JCHS extends its gratitude to both guest speakers for inspiring students to adopt safe practices in today’s digital world.
