JCHS Academics Team

Dr. Marina Magnolia Gallardo-Ninobla brings extensive academic leadership and clinical expertise to her role as Dean at JCHS. A seasoned professor, nurse educator, and registered nurse-midwife holding a Doctor in Nursing Science and a Diploma in Women and Development, she previously served as Dean at Good Samaritan Colleges (GSC) through the FEU-GSC academic partnership, spearheading strategic innovations and institutional quality assurance.

Her rich background encompasses key faculty and administrative posts at Far Eastern University (FEU) and the Oman College of Health Sciences, complemented by extensive development work in community and women’s health. A widely published author in international peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Ninobla actively contributes to caring science, maternal and child health, and the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence in nursing education.

With quality assurance and innovation at the forefront, Dr. Ninobla leads JCHS toward transformative academic excellence and the formation of compassionate, globally competitive healthcare leaders.

Julie Cardona Danofrata is a registered nurse and has been practicing her profession for more than two decades, both in the clinical area and in nursing education. Before joining the nursing academy, she honed her skills in special areas like Operating room, Delivery room and Emergency Room. Meanwhile in nursing education, equipped with top notch clinical expertise, she handles Professional nursing courses in all levels. Furthermore, She also assumed different administrative positions from VINES Laboratory coordinator to Program Head. 

Ms. Danofrata is a lifetime member of various notable nursing organizations, both local and international including the Sigma Theta Tau International. As an active member, she is adept at coordinating and facilitating nursing conventions and seminars.

Currently she is taking up Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Education and working on her paper for publication.

A nurse-educator by profession, Dr. Santos is a graduate of Far Eastern University – Institute of Education with a degree in Doctor of Education. Graduated with Highest Distinction, he taught Nursing subjects on the same university for the past 17 years where he was awarded “Tamaraw Teacher Award” – Teaching Excellence recognition for 4 consecutive terms. He is a Canvas Champion – Bronze Awardee for the year 2021 at FEU. He also earned his Master of Arts in Nursing at Manila Central University. His area of interest include: Nursing Leadership and Management, Community Health Nursing, Disaster Nursing and Special Education. Before joining JCHS, he is a former Scholarship Coordinator and Department Chair of Nursing Graduate Studies at FEU Manila.

Dr. Frida A. Quizzagan has been a regular faculty member of Far Eastern University – Institute of Nursing for almost 20  years. She earned her Doctor of Education from the National University. She was a recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award at Far Eastern University from 2005-2012. Her specialization in the field of Nursing includes Medical-Surgical Nursing, Geriatric Nursing, Neurologic Nursing, and Community Nursing. 

She was born a leader! Since she was young, she has led the class. Even in her career, she held particular positions like Assistant Program Head and became the Chairman of the Curriculum and Faculty Development Committee. She’s been part of and dedicated her profession to helping the Institute progress through local and international accreditation.She is not only committed and dedicated to her profession but as well as being the mother of two.

Dr. Quizzagan is such a happy person that radiates to everyone especially to her students and patients.For her, life should always be in a positive outlook. No matter how hard it is. She keeps her strong faith and believes the saying, “ Put God above everything”.

Raquel Estabillo-Ponelas, MAN, is a dedicated nursing educator and program manager with over 20 years of experience in the academe and training sector. She has a strong background in conceptualizing and executing educational programs, ensuring seamless project management from initiation to completion while adapting to evolving priorities. She served as a regular full-time lecturer and instructor at the Far Eastern University (FEU) – Institute of Nursing, where she also held the position of Level Coordinator from 2023 to 2024. Throughout her career, she has taken on leadership roles, including Center Director and Director for Programs and Academics in various training and review centers since 2014. Her expertise extends to working as a Program Coordinator for a US-based organization to being a national reviewer for nursing. Raquel holds a Master of Arts in Nursing, majoring in Nursing Administration. She is known for her excellent organizational skills, leadership in nursing education, and ability to manage complex milestones in academic and clinical settings.

Mary Ann Bayani a registered nurse and with degree of Master of Arts in Nursing. I am Instructor IV-C faculty at Institute of Health Sciences in Nursing , Far Eastern University Manila. I joined the academe for 12 years now and had received a Feather Award where they gave recognition in giving positive feedback and encouragement to students.

I also had a clinical experience for almost 12 years in some known hospitals in the Philippines like FEU-NRMF, Qualimed to name a few. I became a Department Manager where I handled Emergency Room and ICU department. I also been awarded as best Senior House Officer and Excellence award during my clinical experience. Currently I am finishing my Doctor in Philosophy in Nursing degree.

Remielie Jhoy Acosta-Rando, MAN, RM, RN, is a dedicated Nursing Faculty member at Far Eastern University Manila whose career is distinguished by a strong commitment to nursing education and excellence in maternal and child health care. She holds a Master of Arts in Nursing, major in Medical-Surgical Nursing, and brings a wealth of experience gained from both clinical practice and academia. With six years of clinical experience and twelve years in nursing education, Ms. Acosta-Rando has developed extensive expertise across the continuum of care, supporting individuals and families from conception through adulthood. Her professional background has equipped her with a deep understanding of patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and the complex healthcare needs of diverse populations. As an educator, she is passionate about nurturing future healthcare professionals by integrating real-world clinical insights with innovative teaching strategies. She is committed to fostering critical thinking, professional competence, and compassionate care among nursing students, thereby contributing to the development of competent and ethical practitioners who are prepared to meet the evolving demands of the healthcare profession. Edgar Pabalan Pineda, MSN, RN, is a Registered Nurse and Nurse Educator with specialized expertise in stroke care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Chinese General Hospital College of Nursing and Liberal Arts in Manila and later completed his Master of Science in Nursing, majoring in Adult Health, at St. Paul University Philippines in Tuguegarao. Before joining JCHS, Edgar served as a Lecturer at Far Eastern University in Manila, where he shared his clinical knowledge and helped shape the next generation of nurses. He also brings six years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse in the Acute Stroke Unit at Metro North Medical Center and Hospitals, where he developed strong skills in critical care and stroke management.
