JCHS Visits Gurkha Security Unit for Introductory Talk

On 18th October 2025, JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Gurkha Security Unit (GSU) yesterday for an engaging introductory talk about the college.

The session began with a meaningful address by Ms. Rachelle Sarmiento, Dean of JCHS, who spoke about “Work-Life Balance: Protecting Your Mental Wellbeing.” Her talk emphasized the importance of maintaining mental health amidst life’s daily demands, a message that deeply resonated with the attendees.

Following her, Ms. Mei from the Office of Admissions introduced the various programs and opportunities offered at JCHS, providing insights into how the college nurtures future healthcare professionals through quality education and holistic development.

Adding a personal touch to the event, two of our very own students, Aayun Budhatoki and Apeksha Gurung, both children of GSU personnel, shared their inspiring journeys as JCHS students. Their heartfelt stories reflected their growth, learning, and sense of belonging within the JCHS community.

To conclude the visit, everyone was invited to participate in a free basic health screening conducted by our nursing students, giving attendees a glimpse of JCHS’s hands-on learning and community service spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to the Gurkha Security Unit for the warm welcome and hospitality, it was a meaningful and inspiring exchange, and we look forward to future collaborations.
