On 7th November 2025 – The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Level 2 students of JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) successfully hosted an engaging and insightful session titled “Privacy Matters: Strengthening Trust in Nursing Practice, Education, and Research.” The event focused on the importance of data protection and confidentiality in healthcare, emphasizing the vital role of ethics and trust in nursing.
Participants had the opportunity to explore key aspects of safeguarding client information through thought-provoking discussions led by esteemed guest speakers — Dr. Karpagam Chakkaravarthy, Nurse Representative, JPMC; Dr. Soon Ing Shian, Chairperson, Medical and Health Research and Ethics Committee (MHREC); Director Jocelyn Filoteo, RN, MPH, Representative, Far Eastern University (FEU), Philippines; and Dr. Yusrita binti Haji Zolkefli, Assistant Professor, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
It was a meaningful afternoon of learning and reflection, reinforcing a shared commitment to ethical nursing practice and research integrity among both students and professionals. The session provided valuable insights, leaving students inspired to uphold the principles of privacy, confidentiality, and ethical responsibility in their future nursing careers.
