JCHS Students Begin Student Exchange Programme in Japan with Courtesy Visit to Brunei Embassy

On 23 July 2024, students from JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) embarked on the first day of their Student Exchange Programme in Japan, marking the beginning of an enriching international learning experience that combines academic development with cultural exchange.

As part of the programme, the students paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Tokyo, where they were warmly received by His Excellency Wan Hadfi Lutfan Abd Latif, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Japan. During the visit, the Ambassador expressed his delight at seeing Bruneian students pursuing educational opportunities in Japan and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare and well-being of Bruneian citizens living, studying, and working in the country.

The Ambassador highlighted the important role of the Embassy in supporting Bruneians abroad, particularly during emergencies such as earthquakes, and encouraged the students to remain in contact with the Embassy throughout their stay. He also shared that although there are fewer than 100 Bruneians currently residing in Japan, the Embassy remains dedicated to providing assistance whenever needed.

His Excellency further commended the JCHS students for participating in the exchange programme, describing it as a valuable opportunity to broaden their academic and cultural perspectives while strengthening the longstanding friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Japan. He noted that initiatives such as these play an important role in fostering greater mutual understanding and international collaboration among future professionals.

The Student Exchange Programme reflects JCHS’ ongoing commitment to providing students with global learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. By participating in international academic and cultural exchanges, students gain valuable insights, develop intercultural competencies, and enhance the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected healthcare environment.

JCHS wishes its students a rewarding and memorable experience throughout their time in Japan and looks forward to the knowledge, experiences, and friendships they will bring home at the conclusion of the programme.
