On 24 April 2026, JCHS hosted an insightful Wellness and Recreation Programme (WRP) seminar titled “Nursing Research and Wawasan 2035: Investing in High-Value Healthcare Research,” led by Hajah Kartini Haji Suhai, Acting Deputy Director of Nursing Services.
The seminar welcomed not only JCHS students but also participants from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), creating a meaningful platform for knowledge-sharing, academic discussion, and collaboration among future healthcare professionals.
The session explored the significance of strategic investment in nursing research and education in enhancing healthcare quality, improving patient outcomes, and supporting Brunei Darussalam’s Wawasan 2035 aspirations. Students were also introduced to the current challenges surrounding research funding, policy support, and institutional recognition, while gaining a deeper understanding of how nursing research can contribute to national healthcare development.
Endorsed by the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) as the official WRP activity and successfully organised by final year students in collaboration with OSAS, the seminar reflected both academic enrichment and the strong leadership demonstrated within the JCHS student community.
