JCHS holds inaugural convocation ceremony

On 8 July 2026, JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) held its inaugural Convocation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history by celebrating its first cohort of graduates and programme completers. 

A total of 68 students graduated with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), while 206 students completed the Foundation in Science Certificate (FSC) programme from the 2024 and 2025 intakes. 

The ceremony was officiated by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health. Also in attendance were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Amin Liew Abdullah, Minister of Finance II, and Yang Mulia Aurelio R. Montinola III, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Far Eastern University, together with members of the College’s management, faculty, staff, graduates, completers and their families. 

The ceremony began with a welcoming address by Ms. Chung Yea Fui, Chief Executive Officer of JCHS, who reflected on the College’s journey and expressed gratitude to the faculty, staff, families, and partners for their unwavering support of the inaugural cohort. 

The Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar congratulated the graduates and completers, encouraging them to uphold professionalism, integrity, and compassion as they embark on their careers in healthcare. Following the presentation of candidates by Dr. Rachelle Sarmiento, Dean of Nursing, degrees were formally conferred by Yang Mulia Juan Miguel R. Montinola, President of the Board of Trustees of Far Eastern University, before the Guest of Honour presented the graduates and completers with their degrees and certificates. 

The ceremony also featured an inspiring valedictory address by Dayang Nurin Natasha Khairina binti Haji Hassan, the official welcome of graduates into the Far Eastern University Alumni Association, and concluded with the JCHS Pledge of Loyalty, led by Dayang Aisha Abdul Malik. 

The convocation marked the successful completion of the students’ academic journey and recognised their dedication, perseverance and commitment throughout their studies. It also reflects JCHS’ continued commitment to producing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to Brunei Darussalam’s healthcare sector. 

The event represents an important milestone for the College since its establishment, as it celebrates the achievements of its first graduating class while reaffirming its role in supporting the development of the nation’s future healthcare workforce. 

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates and degrees, followed by a commemorative session with graduates, completers, invited guests and members of the JCHS community.
