From 3rd to 6th July 2026, students from JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) participated in the FREE Health Screening Project held during the MINI SERBISYO FAIR for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), organised in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam.
The community outreach initiative provided JCHS students with the opportunity to deliver free health screening services to members of the Filipino community while applying their clinical knowledge in a real-world setting. Working alongside healthcare professionals and community partners, the students contributed to promoting health awareness and preventive care among overseas Filipino workers and their families.
Beyond enhancing their practical skills, the programme reinforced the importance of volunteerism, compassion, and community service—values that are central to the nursing profession and the educational philosophy of JCHS. The experience allowed students to strengthen their communication, professionalism, and patient-centred care while making a meaningful contribution to the well-being of the community.
JCHS commends its students for their dedication, professionalism, and willingness to serve throughout the four-day outreach programme.
